Skin Care in Summer

It's that time of the year when our televisions will be flooded with advertisement like dermi cool, glucon-D etc, we'll find it difficult to step outside after 10 in the morning and many people will go to dermatologists with complaints like tanning and sunburn.

The transition from cool and windy days of winter to hot, dry or humid days of summer greatly affects your skin.

Since our skin is the largest and an important organ of the body which protects the internal structures of the body, its protection and health must be taken care of. During summer, the UV levels of sun light can be traumatic to the skin leading to skin cancer. Sun burns and  tanning are other very common problems that people face.

1. Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water and other liquids to maintain that fluid balance in your body. Intake of ample water helps give your skin that healthy glow with time. Include cucumber, watermelon and other fruits rich in water content in your diet.

2. Use sunscreen: Don't forget to put some sunscreen on your body before goin out in the sun for protecting the skin.

3. SPF make-up: Use good quality make-up products having SPF in it in case you do not plan to wear your sunscreen.

4. Take bath, but not often: This might sound little bit crazy but taking bath multiple times in a day washes away all the moisture and protective layers that the skin develops for its protection leading skin to get dehydrated very easily.

5. Moisturization: Moisturizing your skin in summer is as important as it is in winter. Moisturization helps prevent dehydration.

6. Wear sun-proof accessories: Whenever going out, wear your sunglasses and hat. Keep your face covered as much as you can.
